Move The Loveseat According To Feng Shui

By Adriana Noton

When we have no organization to our home and we randomly place objects like the loveseat and the couch, our environment has more of an effect than we might think. The art of Feng shui is practiced to teach us the art of learning how to use space thoughtfully, taking advantage of it and making it help rather than hinder. The art was originally practiced with actual buildings, placing them strategically so that the Earth and Heaven would be aligned perfectly to bring blessings to these buildings.

Today, we also use the art in confined spaces, such as inside our home or office. When our space is used in a productive way, it instinctively brings peace of mind. It is easier to feel secure in an environment that has a calming effect. We are looking for the perfect balance and harmony in our atmosphere.

Taking care of the obstacles we put around us and paying attention to their effect can affect such things as concentration and sleep. Especially in a busy office, when things can get quite hectic, people need to feel that they are comfortable in their surroundings and can think straight and calm.

We attempt to harmonize our atmosphere by applying the concepts learned through the practice of Feng Shui. The five elements are involved in anything that we attempt to do in this manner, being water, wind, earth, metal and fire. These elements merge to create the energy we feel around us. That energy can be harnessed and used to its maximum by arranging all of our things according to where they belong.

You will often hear the term chi used when people are discussing Feng Shui. This term refers to the energy in the air, the energy all around us that is constantly changing and moving. This energy also depends on the five elements and will work as a determining factor in how the energy moves about the room.

This practice has been used by people for many years now. It is an ancient Chinese practice that is still being practiced all over the world every day. Some people are naturally able to feel the energy and move the objects in the room to coincide with the atmosphere they feel. The goal of anyone who wants to use this art form is to maximize the positive energy and eliminate the negative. Positive thoughts and feelings can be encouraged simply by rearranging the objects in the room.

Our workspace is very important to us and it requires a lot of cleaning up and rearranging to make it so that our concentration and physical energy are boosted by the atmosphere we surround ourselves with. We do all we can to improve the environment, reduce anything that might be hindering progress and free up restrictive feelings.

If you have to rearrange your couch and loveseat six times before you get it right, it is worth the effort. Having the right amount of energy flowing through the room will create an atmosphere that people will want to be in and will feel at ease in.
