When going for the cruise, it is expected of you to deal with the crew members as politely as possible. Even when they are supposed to be serving you, they still deserve some respect due to them. To have a better experience with the cruise in yacht charter Oxnard, these are the simple etiquette you must take note of.
First, you have to let them know that you have arrived. When they know that you are their clients for the day, they can greet you. Of course, be polite and ask them for their permission to board the boat before you actually do so. Even if they were the ones to greet you first, asking permission is the least you can do.
When you are wearing street shoes, you better remove them before you board the boat. There should be dedicated shoe baskets where you can place your street shoes. Wearing the street shoes on the boat will not only dirty the deck, it can also cause holes and such. You can go barefoot or with clean socks or slippers when on the boat.
There will always be a pre-departure safety briefing before you start the cruise. It is imperative that you listen to the pre-departure safety briefing. Whatever you know from the said briefing can help you handle any situation that come during a cruise. You must follow the rules since they are what will keep you comfortable.
During boarding, you will be taught how to handle the basic systems on the boat. These systems include, but are not limited to, the electrical outlets, toilets, lights, water and showers, and such. Once you know how to handle the basic systems on the boat, you can avoid disrupting the daily work of the crew.
Chartering with children should be okay. However, you will be the one to take care of them. Do not ever treat the crew as your child's babysitter since this is not a part of the crew's job description. You must leave the crew members to their job. Even if they cannot take care of your child, they should still be child-friendly.
There are community spaces in the boat. Examples of them would be the saloon and main living area. Your personal items should not be left just anywhere. You must watch over them. Personal items like the towels, hats, sunglasses, toiletries, and clothing should be left in the cabin. If you bring them on deck, put them inside a small day pack.
In a cruise, the one who determines the law would be the captain. Anything the captain says is law. If the captain says that it would be impossible to go through with a cruise because of the adverse weather or because there is a time constraint, then you better listen to what the captain says. This is for your safety.
The guests will usually be given the chance to dine ashore for at least one night. You should also treat the captain and crew to that. This can be optional though but know that the captain and crew will surely appreciate this gesture.
