Everything There Is To Know Concerning Epoxy Injections

By Shari Swanson

Epoxy injections are resins based sealers used during the repair process of a building. They are forced into any crack within concrete with an aim of protecting the rebar from any damage. Also, they do stop water from getting into the foundation.

All concrete foundations become weak when there is any weak rebar or crack that has developed. This makes the entire building weak and therefore unsafe for any form of occupation. When an epoxy injection is made, the building gains back its strength and therefore become safe for any form of occupation.

The processes involved during this resin are simple and precise. Only the best products should be used for effective repairs and shielding of rebar when protecting it from deteriorating prematurely. The majority of these repairs are done using machines. There are specified minimum and maximum settings that are normally recommended, all tools have to be adjusted prior to beginning any new task.

During the actual repair, ports are first drilled. The ports are normally drilled right above any crack which is to be repaired. A single crack may have several ports drilled onto it. The drilling machine must be vacuum-supported.

Strategic drilling of ports is done so as to ensure complete filling of all the cracks. When filling, one starts from the first drilled port and moves across without skipping any port. This procedure is carried out until all the cracks are completely sealed.

The prevailing weather conditions do not affect epoxy injections to a big extent since they can still be carried out. For best results, one should regulate the temperatures and keep them within the given range. Chemicals are also applicable when the weather is too harsh. There are specific chemicals used as directed by the manufacturer.
