Submersible ones are the most effective since there is no loss of light by reflection and they therefore produce more light to attract the fish. Special modifications can be made on them to increase their effectiveness. The lamps can be placed in a waterproof housing and then connected to the ballast using a waterproof cable. In cases where they are used on daily basis they should be cleaned regularly to keep off marine growth.

They operate with the same battery for a longer period of time, are durable and affordable. They also have an integrated weight for sinking the light vertically, and emit pure green light that is not harmful to the eyes.
