Some Of The Great Holiday Destinations In Europe

By Nick Thompson

One of the main reasons why people go to Europe is to get involved with the wonderful culture and history that exists there. Each and every nation within Europe has hundreds or thousands of years of history behind it and as such the culture that has been built up has a number of different layers. There are plenty of great holiday destinations in Europe so let's quickly identify some of the best options.

If your preference is to really soak up history and culture then a city holiday is probably going to be the best way forward. With wonderful capital cities such as London, Paris, Madrid, Berlin, and Rome on offer you are going to have so many choices available to you. Here you can soak up the wonderful cuisine of the different countries and really get a feel for their history.

Most commonly, however, people going on holiday will usually be doing so in order to enjoy beaches or scale mountains. If this is the case then Europe certainly has some great options available as well.

Beach holidays abound and this is particularly the case down in south western Europe on the Iberian coast. The temperate countries of Portugal and Spain have some amazing coastlines and beautiful geographic features to enjoy. There are also many islands chains to enjoy such as the Greek islands, Balearics, and Canaries.

England and France mark themselves out as two of the most popular holiday destinations within Europe as well. On a single trip to the continent it is very easy to take in a visit to both of these. They are only separated by a short stretch of water and navigating between them is extremely simple. In addition, by seeing them both you can really get a feel for some of the old rivalries that have existed over the years.

At the end of the day Europe has no end of attractions. Whether you want to go and lounge on the beach or see a beautiful city you will have plenty of options to choose from.
