Things to bear in mind when planning boat parties

By Alan Channock

If you are looking for a completely different party venue this year, the answer could be boat hire. Hopping aboard a party boat is becoming a hugely popular choice for all sorts of special occasions, and it could be the perfect way to make your birthday celebrations, Christmas party or retirement event truly memorable.

It isn't as easy as you might think to plan and book a boat party though, especially if you've never done it before. That's why you may benefit from a few tips and hints.

First on your list of requirements should be the capacity of the boat. This can be quite tricky, as you need to work out how many people will be attending your event, and gage whether they will actually show up or not. Only then can you choose your boat, and you should try to get one that is slightly bigger than you anticipate needing. After all, you don't want to leave any party guests stranded on the river bank.

You should also try to find a party boat hire company that runs locally to you, so that everyone can attend without having to travel too far. So if, for example, you live in Maidenhead, you should always try to find a Maidenhead boat hire company. If you live Windsor, however, the most obvious choice will be a boat parties Windsor company.

You mustn't forget about other important details such as food, refreshments and the entertainment that will be laid on for your guests. The best option is a package deal that provides you with the buffet or the sit-down meal you ideally want, but you may have to book your own entertainment,.

Last but not least is the price of your boat hire package. There are enough options out there to suit all budgets, but you may need to splash out a little if you want a truly memorable night for yourself and all of your guests.
