Superheroes Who Can Stand To Fly Clear

By Rob Sutter

Take a moment to wonder about which superpowers do people most commonly associate with superheroes? I think it'd be a fair bet to say that the most common answer would be flight. Whether Superman or Iron Man, people normally connect the ability to fly with superheroes. However, there are a few archetypes that simply lack the ability to do so and this is where the idea to fly clear comes in. Which of these costumed crusaders would be smart to use the concept of flying clear?

The one superhero without flight, which immediately comes to mind, is Batman. He would be the one who is best fitted to fly clear, powered by the business called CLEAR. Despite all of this martial art artistry and range of gadgetry, he is not able to fly like fellow DC hero Superman can. To say that this could be seen as embarrassing is an understatement.

There's something comical about a patriotic hero boarding a plane and in this case, Captain America would be best suited to fly clear as well. Steve Rogers has flight training, most likely, due to his war background. Despite all of the super soldier serum that has been shot into his body, he is unfortunately unable to take to the skies on his accord. It would be a display to see, a star-spangled war hero taking his boots off at the checkpoint.

Don't even get me initiated on the Hulk. Bruce Banner's anger difficulties have already been well-documented and I can't imagine how things would be once he's spent over a half hour waiting in line to board a plane. Banner could avoid a hulk-out moment, though, by obtaining a CLEARcard, passing through security with minimal wait. It would be the best thing for any airport to do, too, if they want to avoid a poor flight attendant crying in fright of the giant, green rage monster.

These are the kinds of heroes who would be best suited to fly clear, since their powers do not encompass that of flight. They might be greatly powerful and influential beings but not being able to fly towards the sky would be a hindrance to them. For most superhero fans, it's the most basic power to have. Without it, though, they would be smart to take advantage of short waits and fly clear instantaneously.
