100 years of Coleman Lanterns

The Coleman Lantern was the first product of the Coleman company started by W.C. Coleman early in the 1900s. Coleman set out to produce the best lantern possible from a new fuel source just beginning to become popular. This Fuel source was gasoline which burned much cleaner and with a brighter light than the current kerosene lanterns of the day.
With Electrical service still years away from reaching rural America the usual light source for homes and farms was a lantern.
