Choosing The Right Fly Fishing Nets

By Doris Rivas

Catching fish has become a favorite pass time with most of it being the catch and release method. Finding pleasure in this will require having the right equipment for the job as well as one that will cause as minimal harm to the fish as possible. One of the tools that people require is what is known as fly fishing nets.

There are various reasons as to why one would prefer a given type of equipment over the other and this would majorly boil down to personal preference. The other factors that may be of concern are what one is hoping to catch. This is because certain types of sea life may be difficult to catch with certain equipments.

The first consideration when getting one of these is the handle by which these are supplied in with there being need to look at a few things. The first one being the length in relation to the place where one will put it use. The shorter types of handle are much more useful where one is wading in shallow waters with the longer one being preferred where one is boating.

The first part that one should give careful consideration to is the handle, which comes in many variations for the different types of situations or experiences. When looking at the handle ones needs to take the length or size of this handle into mind, as each length has its upsides as well as downsides. Striking a balance between what one wishes and what one feels comfortable using is the best way to go.

The second part of this is the mesh, as this will determine the amount of harm that the fish will have to endure. Rubber is the friendliest of all as it does not trap the hook as one tries to struggle unhooking the fish, but some take out the mucus lining the fish. On the other hand this is the heaviest of them all.

The other materials that one can choose from are basically for the purposes of durability or to avoid the weight issue that rubber presents. These other materials are mostly cotton and nylon which are much lighter and they also do lesser harm. This though may trap the hook as one tries to get the fish off which may injure the fish in certain cases.

The other slightly less important consideration may be how one wishes to move these equipments around. Some have magnetic attachments that can be easily attached and detached from the vest one is wearing, which gives one a convenient way in which this can be done. Others are spring loaded and in some cases this may be done by use of Velcro.

The type of fly fishing nets that one can have will be majorly determined by the preferences of the person. This can also be determined by the area in which one chooses to go catch fish at. This will provide one with a simple guide as to how best to go about this.
