When going on holiday, it is vital that you have your beach bag sorted. Not only does not bringing the right equipment to the beach limit the fun you can have, but it also can increase the health risks associated with going to the beach. And it's not just about what you put in the bag, it's also about what kind of bag it is. This article outlines what is essential for both your enjoyment, and your safety when going to the beach.
Picking the right beach bag is the first thing you should be doing. Keep in mind the extreme conditions that beach bags are exposed to, such as the rough hot sand, the wet salty sea and the unrelenting sunshine. Because of these conditions, you should pick a bag that is durable, so that it won't break and risk losing your belongings. The size is important too if you are going to fit everything in.
Now you have chosen your bag, the first thing you should put in it are those things that are vital to your safety. High factor sun cream is vital. Even if you are intending on getting a mean tan, and so want to use a low factor, you should bear in mind that this must be reapplied much more often, and you should take high factor cream just in case. The second thing you need to pack is a first aid pack with plasters, insect repellent and bite cream. Sunglasses are also vital for protecting your eyesight.
Now that you have safety covered, it's time to pack for fun. Swimming gear is perhaps the most important thing here, because a trip to the beach without a dip in the sea is just unthinkable. Why not buy a snorkel and some goggles and see if you can spot some of the local marine life? To return to the safety issue, perhaps taking a waterproof capsule for taking your money and valuables with you when you swim is a good idea.
Entertainment is important too. If you are going to the beach with children then you need to make sure that they are kept entertained, as just lying in the sun doesn't have the same appeal when you are young. Books and magazines are a good option, and it will surprise you just how many you can read in a day at the beach.
