You are probably interested about making fly fishing a hobby because you can enjoy nature and breathe fresh air. Fly fishing is a sport that gives you an opportunity to be amused by nature.

Fly fishing doesn't involve any speed; there is no rush with this activity and you don't necessarily have to catch a fish.

These factors make fly fishing a great weekend activity or vacation sport if your purpose is to blend in with nature far from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The rod used in fly fishing is normally lighter than the ones uses in traditional fishing. These rods are usually 9 feet long and weigh about 9 ounces. The length of the stream will tell you how long your rod should be. Smaller streams would mean shorter rods.

Fly fishing lines have bigger weights than those used in traditional fishing. These lines may float on the water surface or sink under the water.

Your fishing method and species of fish you want to catch will help you decide your kind of fishing bait.

The best way to catch fish while they are seeking their food on the water surface is to have baits that resemble insects. Some fish thrive on other objects so your baits must also move like those objects.

A variety of fishing baits should then be stock up on a fly fisherman's equipments.

In fly fishing there are many factors that determine which kind of bait is effective such as time of the day, water temperature, sun's glare, and speed of water on the stream. Fly fishing is already a recognized sport that fishing baits have official categories. Some of the classes of fly fishing baits are the following: the dry flies and emergers, the nymphs, the streamers, the wet flies, the saltwater flies, the bass and panfish flies, and salmon and steelhead flies are the official grouping of fly fishing baits.

You can have the recreation you deserve with fly fishing and being one with nature when you have done thorough planning and preparation.
