Mice and Rio de Janeiro Apartments

First of all, I must confess, the place that I was residing can't really be identified as an apartment. I'm among those kinds of folks who needs to go so far off the beaten path that I can't find it again. Hotels and Apartments? Not truly my bag. So as expected, when an individual like me goes to travel to Rio de Janeiro I'm very likely to face some unique complications. Especially if you go to look at the kind of rentals I researched. If you are taking unconventional actions, you are more likely to have some unconventional difficulties, as I discovered.
I'd actually located some flats located in one of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. This particular favela was located within Copacabana, however it was also very close to Ipanema. While a lot of people would likely hunt for hotels or apartments, I actually stumbled across this unique bit of real estate to be embedded in the culture. Funk parties, loud music, samba, low budget fireworks at all times of the day and night. If this is the holiday you look for, then a favela is for you. If not, chances are you'll think of a different plan for your vacation.
When I migrated into my new accommodations, it wasn't long before I discovered I had an unforeseen guest. Or perhaps you would refer to him as an invader. Though it could be argued as to who was the actual invader. I imagine to this rodent, I had been actually encroaching on his territory. In all probability he was there long before I arrived. Also, this isn't really something that occurred to me while I'd been seeking flats and rentals in the local slums of Rio de Janeiro. But what else could you do?
One might possibly inquire, what's it like living with a rat? Well, most of us have had that roommate who is "that guy." You know the sort. The ones who make noise when you're trying to sleep. They devour your food and don't clean up their messes. Though I need to disclose, in comparison to other roommates in other apartments I've stayed in, this rodent was very courteous. But then again, the bar may be set low, very low.
Probably next time I will accept the approach of staying in hotels. Although for the money, there's no chance I'd have gotten anywhere as close to Copacabana or Ipanema beach had I not moved into some accommodations that could accept my fuzzy four legged friend with a tail.
